Dorsey Pictures, the creator of the Buccaneers & Bones television series, has granted the world’s premiere saltwater flats conservation organization, Bonefish & Tarpon Trust, full access to its archive of show footage for use in BTT’s educational outreach and marketing efforts.
“We appreciate our long partnership with Dorsey Pictures, which has shared the beauty and excitement of flats fishing—and the need to conserve our flats fishery—with audiences around the world,” said BTT President Jim McDuffie. “The donation of rights to use Buccaneers & Bones content will allow that important outreach to continue now on our own marketing and communications channels.”
Buccaneers & Bones, which airs on Outdoor Channel, began in 2009 as Pirates of the Flats on ESPN. The final season of the series will air January-March 2018 and is hosted by legendary NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw. The all-star cast of Buccaneers & Bones includes Michael Keaton, Lefty Kreh, Liam Neesen, Huey Lewis, Jimmy Kimmel, Zac Gilford, Thomas McGuane, Yvon Chouinard, Jim Belushi, and scores of the top flats fishing experts in the world. The award-winning series celebrates the majesty of flats fishing while showcasing the invaluable work of the Bonefish & Tarpon Trust to conserve and restore bonefish, tarpon, and permit fisheries through sound science.
Based in Denver, Colorado, Dorsey Pictures has launched 54 outdoor television series and produced more than 1,800 episodes of hunting and fishing programs, more than any independent producer in history.
