BTT is counting on your support on Give Miami Day to sustain our conservation work in South Florida and the Keys. These efforts focus on restoring the Everglades, conserving habitats that benefit fish and wildlife while also providing coastal resilience for South Florida, and addressing threats to water quality. BTT is taking action to ensure the health of our local waters and communities by:
- Seeking improvements and funding for wastewater treatment infrastructure reform.
- Participating on the Biscayne Bay Task Force to support the health of the Bay.
- Working with Miami-Dade County to develop a Reasonable Assurance Plan to improve water quality.
- Assessing the overall health of Biscayne Bay through a future research study on shrimp populations relative to seagrass levels.
- Working with partners to set goals for nutrient criteria and seeking future funding from federal grants.
- Engaging with Biscayne National Park as it forms its management plan.
- Conducting research on bonefish, tarpon and permit to sustain the valuable flats fishery in Biscayne Bay and the Keys.
During this 24-hour event on November 17, The Miami Foundation and its partners will maximize our community’s generosity. All gifts made to Bonefish & Tarpon Trust between $25 and $10,000 will be eligible for a bonus gift from the Bonus Pool!
What’s more, this year, you can support BTT before Give Miami Day and make a gift as early as Monday, November 14. We ask you to help us kickstart our campaign and make your charitable donation early. We’ll share updates as we get closer to the big day!
