Madison Valley Ranch, a premier fly-fishing lodge near Bozeman, Montana, has announced its support of Bonefish & Tarpon Trust as a Silver Partner.
“As one of the world’s premier fly-fishing lodges, we are pleased to announce our partnership with Bonefish & Tarpon Trust,” said Tom Focthman, Co-Owner of Madison Valley Ranch. “Our shared passion for conservation and fly-fishing travel has united us in wholeheartedly supporting BTT’s mission. Their proactive contributions to researching, protecting, and restoring saltwater fish populations and habitats align with our own commitment to similar initiatives here in Montana. We hold the Western Hemisphere’s flats fisheries close to our hearts, embracing BTT’s vision for a healthier, sustainable future for these ecosystems, their fish, and the communities they support.”
Conveniently located one hour from Bozeman, Madison Valley Ranch opened its doors in 1994, and in 2015 and 2021 was named the Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Lodge of the Year. Known for its world-class fishing guides and attentive staff, the Ranch is situated on the upper Madison River and features stunning views, exceptional trout-fishing, luxury lodging, fine wine, and gourmet dining.
One of most recognized trout streams in the world, the Madison offers 130 miles of trout-bearing water. Known for its amazing salmon fly hatch and great hopper fishing, the Madison is great for both wading and floating combinations and a good fit for anglers of all experience levels. A short walk from the Ranch’s back door, guests can access the famous “Channels” section of the upper Madison, as well as Jack Creek and the Ranch’s own trophy trout pond.
Madison Valley Ranch also guides anglers on other top area fishing destinations, including Ennis Lake, the Big Hole River, Beaverhead River, Yellowstone River, Ruby River, and Jefferson River. In addition to guided fly fishing, the Ranch offers the complete Montana experience, working directly with the region’s top outfitters for backcountry horseback riding, bird watching, and Yellowstone National Park tours.
The Ranch features three unique buildings surrounded by vast ranchlands and remote mountains. With a maximum capacity of 28 guests, the lodge offers 14 comfortable rooms, each with two queen beds, private showers, outdoor patio seating and more. Other amenities include a hot tub, fire pit, yard games, riverside walking trails, and a fully stocked onsite fly shop. The Ranch is the perfect setting for families, couples, anglers, and corporate retreats.
“Clean water, healthy habitat, and effective fisheries management are essential to the sustainability of our recreational fisheries, from trout streams to bonefish flats,” said BTT President and CEO Jim McDuffie. “With the generous support of Madison Valley Ranch, BTT will advance its mission to conserve the flats fishery with science-based approaches. We thank MVR for its commitment well beyond its home waters.”
