The Belize Permit Club, a premier permit fishing lodge in southern Belize, has announced its support of Bonefish & Tarpon Trust (BTT) as a Silver Partner.

“We are once again honored to support the initiatives at BTT. Without their support and science, we wouldn’t have the productive fisheries we all enjoy today,” said Wil Flack, owner and head guide of Belize Permit Club. “Future generations will benefit from the work being done by BTT today and every day. We have a responsibility to make sure our kids can chase bonefish, permit and tarpon, like we did.”

Conveniently located just south of the small fishing village of Hopkins, the Belize Permit Club is situated amid one of the most productive permit fisheries in the world. The lodge sits on the banks of the Sittee River minutes from the Caribbean Sea and caters exclusively to dedicated permit anglers, ensuring that each angler is on the water during ideal tides.

One of the country’s top permit guides, Flack is also the owner of Tres Pescados Fly Shop in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. From humble beginnings on the west coast of Canada, to the fabled flats of the Caribbean, he has dedicated his life to the pursuit of permit. He and his team of guides possess decades of angling knowledge and are skilled at finding, targeting, and landing permit throughout the fishery surrounding Hopkins.

“BTT appreciates the generous support and partnership of the Belize Permit Club,” said BTT President and CEO Jim McDuffie. “Together, we are making great progress in our shared commitment to conserve Belize’s world-class fisheries through research and community action.”

Flack and his guides fish from custom 23-foot pangas, which are designed for poling the flats and safely crossing open water. All the boats are equipped with poling platforms and are designed for fly-fishing, with spacious casting decks and clean interiors. Permit in the area can also be targeted by anglers while wading.

The Belize Permit Club can host six anglers at a time and provides its guests with comfortable accommodations, a relaxed bar area, and traditional Belizean cuisine. The lodge accepts stays as short as four nights and three days of fishing, and trips of any length can be accommodated. To learn more visit: www.belizefly.com/belize-permit-club.
