Turneffe Island Resort Supports BTT as a Bronze Sponsor

Turneffe Island Resort has announced its support of Bonefish & Tarpon Trust as a Bronze Sponsor. The private island resort, located off the coast of Belize, is an angler’s dream destination in paradise. Originally built in 1962 on the coral island of Little Caye Bokel, the resort has been under new family ownership since 2001.

The resort boasts six nearby flats. This prime location combined with the expertise of seasoned fishing guides creates the ideal conditions for anglers to achieve Grand Slams and make fly fishing memories to last a lifetime. The fishing program is catch-and-release and built around conservation, respecting the Turneffe Atoll bioregion, its ecosystems, and the livelihoods of Belizean guides.

In addition to incredible fishing, the resort offers scuba and snorkeling experiences and excursions to the world-famous Great Blue Hole, just one and a half hours away from the island by boat. With luxurious accommodations and a full-service spa, you might enjoy relaxation almost as much as days casting to permit, bonefish, and tarpon on the flats. Fusing traditional Belizean fare with flavors as worldly as their international guests, meals are a five-star culinary experience.

Sustainability is a core concept of the Turneffe Island Resort’s operations. This ethos is extended to guests through education and opportunities to engage in environmentally beneficial activities, such as harvesting invasive lionfish.
