Welcome BTT Youth Ambassador Mason Harris! Mason is a high school student from North Carolina who fishes rivers, lakes, and Florida waters seeking “big tarpon, big catfish, and big trout.”
He describes one epic moment chasing tarpon: “As I stripped my Clouser back, and a behemoth of a fish turned off of the daisy chain and chased my fly, my heart raced like nothing else. Seeing the intensity and power of such a beautiful creature was humbling and exhilarating to say the very least. From that moment on, fire was lit. One that drives me not only to want to chase these fish, but to protect them and their environments as well.”
Mason understands that moments like these, which illustrate the connection anglers have to the resource, uniquely position us to be champions for conservation.
“By constantly pushing ourselves to practice what we preach and to support other conservation efforts,” Mason shares, “We can ensure future generations have the chance to cast their lines into healthy fisheries and waterways.”
