Fishpond and BTT Launch Co-Branded Collection Benefiting Bahamas Mangrove Restoration

Fishpond and Bonefish Tarpon Trust partner for co-branded collection supporting BTT's Bahamas Mangrove Restoration Project.

Fishpond, a leading fly-fishing and outdoor products company headquartered in Denver, CO, has partnered with Bonefish & Tarpon Trust to create a co-branded line of gear designed for traveling anglers.

A portion of sales will benefit BTT’s Bahamas Mangrove Restoration Project, restoring mangroves in areas of Grand Bahama and Abaco severely impacted by Category 5 Hurricane Dorian in 2019. To date, the project has planted more than 75,000 trees with the help of local fishing guides, students, and volunteers. The Fishpond X BTT collection will also support BTT’s mangrove conservation efforts across The Bahamas.

“At Fishpond, we are deeply committed to sustainability and the preservation of our natural ecosystems,” stated Jack Reis, Fishpond Director of Marketing. “Partnering with Bonefish & Tarpon Trust allows us to not only support vital mangrove restoration efforts in The Bahamas but also to give back to the communities that rely on these habitats. This collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to protecting clean water and healthy environments for the species that inhabit our wild places. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on the health of our fisheries and ensure a sustainable future for anglers.”

A family-owned company founded 25 years ago in the Rocky Mountains, Fishpond is dedicated to crafting functional fly fishing and outdoor products while prioritizing the health of ecosystems like those found in The Bahamas. Sustainability drives Fishpond’s innovation and development, fueled by the company’s passion for protecting clean water and healthy habitats that are essential for the health of the species that inhabit wild places. As a certified B Corporation, Fishpond minimizes its environmental impact by rigorously reviewing its supply chain, resource consumption, emissions, and quality standards while maintaining strict sustainability certifications.

As part of its long-standing commitment to environmental sustainability, Fishpond began using recycled nylon fishing nets in its products over a decade ago, aiming to build a healthier future for the planet. Today, nearly 100% of the company’s fabrics are made from recycled materials. In addition to its focus on sustainable production, Fishpond supports environmental initiatives around the globe, furthering its mission to protect vital ecosystems worldwide.

“We greatly appreciate the generous support of Fishpond and its commitment to restoring and conserving mangrove habitats, which are so vital to the health of The Bahamas’ flats fishery and coastal communities,” said BTT President and CEO Jim McDuffie. “This exciting new partnership will support our efforts at scale, including the planting of 1 million mangroves with partners by the end of 2025 and the pursuit of new national policies beneficial to mangrove conservation.”

The co-branded line of products features the Dakota Carry-On Rod & Reel Case, Tacky Pescador Large Fly Box, and Boulder Briefcase. Fishpond will donate $95 from each Dakota sale, $25 from each Large Pescador sale, and $95 from each Boulder briefcase sale to BTT in support of Bahamian mangrove restoration and conservation.
